The IMG Notre Dame Radio Network isn’t ruling out firing radio analyst Allen Pinkett after he made controversial comments during an interview on CBS Radio’s sports “670 The Score” WSCR, Chicago. Pinkett, a former running back, said it was good to have “criminals” on a college football team. IMG says it is “extremely disappointed” with the comments and Pinkett won’t be part of the play-by-play for Notre Dame’s season opener this weekend in Dublin.
“Further decisions on this matter will be made in the coming days,” the network says in a statement. Pinkett has issued an apology, saying the comments were “inappropriate” and he chose his words poorly. “I understand that there may be consequences to my actions and accept whatever discipline is imposed,” Pinkett added, reports Inside Radio.
