7/10 – Scott Signs New Deal With ESPN

After seeing some high profile departures from the network, and usually acknowledging them with terse tweets, ESPN has decided to begin announcing those personalities who choose to stay. And that begins today with the announcement at the Network’s Front Row blog and a subsequent podcast that long-time SportsCenter anchor and host Stuart Scott has signed a multi-year deal.

Scott began his career at the Alleged Worlwide Leader in 1993 when along with Suzy Kolber and Keith Olbermann, launched ESPN2 which at the time was supposed to be a younger, hipper version of ESPN.

Scott eventually branched over to ESPN where he has been a host on the NBA and NFL. He’s been in a battle with cancer and is one of the most interactive ESPN’ers on Twitter.

No financial terms of the new contract were announced, reports Fang
