1/3 – Rose Bowl Earns 9.9 Overnight, Lowest in Years

Monday’s #10 Wisconsin/#5 Oregon Rose Bowl earned a 9.9 overnight rating on ESPN, down 15% from last year (TCU/WISC: 11.7), and down 28% from 2010 (OSU/ORE: 13.8, ABC). The 9.9 overnight is the lowest for the Rose Bowl since at least 2001 (overnights prior to 2002 were not available). The lowest Rose Bowl rating ever was a 10.8 for the 1989 game. The Rose Bowl drew a 34.7 rating in Milwaukee and a 29.7 in Portland (OR), both local records for a bowl game on ESPN, according to Sports Media Watch.
