LYNCH: REDSKINS DEFENSE IS A YEAR AWAY FROM BEING ‘DARN GOOD’ – Former NFL All-Pro safety and current NFL on FOX game analyst John Lynch thinks the Redskins defense can overcome some of their issues this season behind schemes from defensive coordinator Jim Haslett.   “I look at this defense and think they’re a year off from being really good.  In this style of defense, your pressure comes from the outside linebackers and linebacker Brian Orakpo is out which leaves Ryan Kerrigan to get all the attention that Orakpo would’ve gotten.  The linebacker on the other side of Kerrigan has to emerge and do enough to garner that attention and I’m not sure they have that guy,” said Lynch.  “It’s a difficult thing to overcome.  They’re going to have to do it collectively and schematically and Jim Haslett has been very good at that.”

UFC 153 COULD BE GREATEST UPSET IN HISTORY, SAYS FLORIAN – This weekend’s UFC 153: SILVA VS. BONNAR features UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva and Light Heavyweight veteran Stephan Bonnar in a non-title fight at a catch weight of 205 pounds. Despite the fact that it’s a non-title fight, Silva is one of the greatest fighters of all time, riding an unprecedented 16-fight win streak. Bonnar enters the fight as a major underdog. FUEL TV’s “UFC Tonight” analyst Kenny Florian believes Bonnar has a chance to pull off the greatest upset of all time. “This is a David versus Goliath situation, Rocky story, Cinderella story,” said Florian. “Bonnar has the opportunity to make the greatest upset inUFC history. There’s no doubt that Bonnar is a huge underdog, but he is also a huge 205 pounder and he really has to use his weight against Anderson Silva. If there is a weakness with Silva, it is in his ground game. Bonnar can use his size advantage in his ground and pound. Stephan is very good on the ground; he is a black belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu. This is going to be an excellent fight,” said Florian. The action kicks-off on FUEL TV Friday, October 12 (12:00 PM ET) with the live UFC Weigh-in on FUEL TV,hosted by Jon Anik. UFC stars Chael Sonnen and Urijah Faber offer analysis and two-time MMA Journalist of the YearAriel Helwani conducts backstage interviews. FUEL TV wraps coverage of the main event Saturday night, October 13 with the live UFC Postfight Show on FUEL TV (1:00 AM ET). Anik leads the one-hour recap, with Sonnen and Faber’s analysis, and Helwani’s interviews backstage.
