One year after Entercom gave sports WEEI, Boston (850) a spot on the FM dial with WEEI-FM (93.7) it is splitting the simulcast and will begin airing ESPN Radio on the AM. WEEI will clear the sports network 24-hours a day, leaving local talk and Red Sox and Celtics play-by-play for WEEI-FM. The new station will be branded “ESPN on WEEI” to leverage the station’s well-established brand in the market, reports Inside Radio.
