Schedule Continues Lead Up to MLB Network’s Exclusive Telecasts of Two Division Series Games On October 7 & 10
Secaucus, N.J., September 14, 2012 – The pennant races continue with division leaders and potential Postseason matchups throughout MLB Network’s live game schedule from September 17-22. MLB Network Showcase features one possible Postseason preview as Bryce Harper and the Washington Nationals, who hold MLB’s best record, play host to Adrian Gonzalez and the Los Angeles Dodgers, just two games back of an NL Wild Card spot, on September 20 at 7:00 p.m. ET. Brian Kenny andJim Kaat will have the call with Sam Ryan reporting from the field. Viewers in the Los Angeles and Baltimore/Washington, D.C. markets will see the Toronto Blue Jays travel to Yankee Stadium to faceDerek Jeter and the New York Yankees, who are tied for first place atop the AL East with the Baltimore Orioles, at 7:00 p.m. ET.
The game schedule for next week begins with Evan Longoria and the Tampa Bay Rays, who are four games back of both the AL East lead and a Wild Card spot, taking on the Boston Red Sox on Monday, September 17 at 7:00 p.m. ET. Viewers in select markets will see Jimmy Rollins and the surging Philadelphia Phillies, now only four games back of an NL Wild Card spot after winning eight of their last ten games, face David Wright and the New York Mets at 7:00 p.m. ET. A Tuesday night doubleheader on September 18 starts with the Dodgers and Nationals facing off in the opener of their three-game series at 7:00 p.m. ET. Viewers in select markets will see a battle between two Wild Card contenders as Yoenis Cespedes and the Oakland Athletics take on Miguel Cabrera and the Detroit Tigers at 7:00 p.m. ET. In the second game, AL MVP candidates collide as Josh Hamilton, the MLB leader with 41 home runs and 121 RBI, and the AL West first-place Texas Rangers visit Mike Trout, who leads MLB in runs and stolen bases, and the division rival Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim at 10:00 p.m. ET. Viewers in select markets will see Buster Posey and the NL West-leading San Francisco Giants play the Colorado Rockies at 10:00 p.m. ET.
Also among the possible Postseason matchups, Joey Votto and the NL Central first-place Cincinnati Reds face the Dodgers on Friday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m. ET. Viewers in select markets will see the Yankees play host to the Athletics at 7:00 p.m. ET. Paul Konerko and the Chicago White Sox, who hold a one-game lead over the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central, visit the Angels on Saturday, September 22 at 9:00 p.m. ET. Viewers in select markets will see the San Diego Padres play the Giants at 9:00 p.m. ET.
