7/27 – DC’s Brian Westbrook Joins SiriusXM NFL Radio

Philadelphia Eagles star will debut July 26

NEW YORK –  – Sirius XM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) today announced that former Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro running back Brian Westbrook has joined SiriusXM NFL Radio, the only radio channel dedicated to the NFL 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Westbrook will make his debut today, July 26, on Movin’ The Chains (3:00 – 7:00 pm ET) and will be heard regularly on the channel throughout the year.  During the NFL season, Westbrook will host NFL Rewind every Sunday night (8:00 pm – midnight ET), recapping the games and interviewing star performers of the day.

SiriusXM NFL Radio is available to listeners nationwide on channel 88 on Sirius and XM Premier.  The channel is also available on the SiriusXM Internet Radio App for smartphones and other mobile devices and online at SiriusXM.com.

“When it comes to NFL coverage and analysis, SiriusXM NFL Radio is at the top of its game,” said Westbrook.  “I always enjoyed coming on the channel as a player and I’m very excited to join SiriusXM’s roster as a host.  I look forward to interviewing players, many of whom I’ve played with and against, and talking with NFL fans around the country about what’s on their minds.”

Westbrook was drafted out of Villanova University by the Philadelphia Eagles in the third round of the 2002 NFL Draft and over eight seasons became one of the most prolific backs in the franchise’s history.  As one of the league’s most dynamic all-purpose threats he forced opposing teams to respect him as a ball carrier, pass catcher and punt returner, and he produced more than 1200 yards from scrimmage in five different seasons.  In 2007, he led the NFL with 2104 yards from scrimmage, scored 12 touchdowns and was named a First Team All Pro.  He was selected to the Pro Bowl team in 2004 and 2007.

Westbrook is Philadelphia’s all-time leader in yards from scrimmage (9,785) and touches (1,734) and ranks second in the franchise’s record books in rushing yards (5,995).  He helped lead the Eagles to the playoffs in six of his eight seasons.  He played in 11 playoff games and helped propel the Eagles to four appearances in the NFC Championship Game and Super Bowl XXXIX.  He played his last season with the San Francisco 49ers and stands as one of only seven players in NFL history to score at least 25 rushing touchdowns and 25 receiving touchdowns.
