Bonneville all-news WTOP-FM, Washington (103.5) set a record of its own last week. Its website had 11.8 million page views, a 325% increase over the previous week.WTOP director of digital media John Meyer says the site also set a new all-time single day record, hitting 3.58 million page views last Friday as the clock ticked down toward a potential closure. The previous record was set just two months ago when winter weather knocked the one-day page views up to 2.9 million. Not surprisingly Meyer says government and military workers (those with .gov or .mil addresses) increased from a typical 21% of site traffic to 40%. He notes with such a complex story, time spent on the site bumped up to more than 40 minutes on Friday and 62 minutes on Saturday, according to Inside Radio.
