KEN ROSENTHAL: WILL CLEMENS GET MY HALL VOTE? – With the news of former MLB pitcherRoger Clemens’ acquittal on all charges in his perjury trial, the discussion in the baseball world has turned to his Hall of Fame candidacy. MLB on FOX & FOXSports.com reporter Ken Rosenthal has a vote for the National Baseball Hall of Fame and believes this acquittal will not change much in the eyes of fellow voters. “Nothing changes. If you believe that Roger Clemens used performance-enhancing drugs, I seriously doubt that the ‘not guilty’ verdict on Monday is going to persuade you he was clean. It’s sure not going to persuade me,” Rosenthal writes. “Whether I vote for Clemens for the Hall of Fame, though, is another question entirely. And frankly, I’m not sure that even a conviction would have influenced my thinking, which is conflicted at best.”

HAMILTON ON PACE TO BREAK SINGLE-SEASON ALL-STAR BALLOTING MARK – With less than three weeks before first pitch of Major League Baseball’s 83rd Mid-Summer Classic, airing Tuesday, July 10 (7:30 PM ET) on FOX, Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton continues to be the leading vote getter in All-Star game balloting. Hamilton looks set to break Jose Bautista’s 7.4 million single-season balloting record from last year, currently finding himself some 2 million votes shy of the mark. Yankees captain Derek Jeter remains in second place in the American League. Dodgers’ outfielder Matt Kemp continues to lead the race for top spot in the National League, with Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto increasingly closing the gap from last week’s numbers in second place.

Fans can vote for their hometown superstar and get more information on this year’s ballots by visiting www.allstargame.com orwww.royals.com/asg. Spanish-language ballots are also available at lasmayores.com.

MCCARVER: BIGGEST SURPRISE IN MLB ISN’T WHO IS DOING WELL, IT’S WHO ISN’T  –  With less than three weeks to go before MLB’s biggest stars take the field, MLB ON FOX and 2012 Ford C Frick Award recipient Tim McCarver looked at some of the storylines around the game as we approach the Midsummer Classic. “Some of the bigger stories are about the players that aren’t in the discussion, as opposed to the players that are, for example – someone like Tim LincecumMatt Cain and his 14 strike-out perfect game last week, that’s a great story for MLB and the team but if people had been asked before the season, which player is going to the All-Star Game – Matt Cain or Tim Lincecum, I think most everybody would have said Lincecum. Here we are in June and Lincecum continues to struggle. There are a lot of stories that stand out but that’s one that certainly stands out to me.”

NEW CAMP, TIME OFF GOOD FOR GRAY MAYNARD GOING INTO UFC ON FX FIGHT  – According to FUEL TV guest analyst and former light heavyweight champion Rashad EvansGray Maynard’s switching of camps and time off will help him in his Friday night lightweight main card fight against Clay Guida at UFC ON FX: MAYNARD VS. GUIDA. “Whenever you switch camps, you have a reason for switching camps. So Gray is probably feeling good about switching,” says Evans. He doesn’t believe Maynard will have any ring rust from his recent time out of the octagon: “If you stay on your game, stay with the training, when you are on your timing, the timing doesn’t go away.” Evans will join host Jay Glazer for the live UFC Weigh-in on FUEL TV on Thursday, June 21 (4:00 PM ET). Evans and Light Middleweight Mark Munoz will also be guest analysts with Glazer on the live UFC Prelims on FUEL TV on Friday, June 22 (6:00 PM ET) and the live UFC Postfight Show on FUEL TV later that night (11:00 PM ET).

FLORIAN: “IF WANDERLEI CAN TURN IT INTO A BRAWL, HE CAN WIN” AT UFC 147  – According to FUEL TV’s “UFC Tonight” analyst and recently retired UFC Fighter Kenny Florian, the upcoming UFC 147 main card bout between former middleweight champion Rich Franklin and BrazilianWanderlei Silva is rematch of two legends who fought first at UFC 99 in 2009 which Franklin won the first time. “It’s going to come down to how much Wanderlei is able to counter Franklin,” says Florian. “If Wanderlei can turn it into a brawl, he can win because Rich has been off for a long time.” FUEL TV carries the live UFC 147 Weigh-in Show on Friday, June 22 (3:00 PM ET) and UFC 147 Postfight Show on FUEL TV on Saturday, June 23 immediately following the fight (approximately 1:00 AM ET).
