5/31 – LA Kings/Devils Game One Ratings Lowest Since 2007

Despite featuring the top two television markets, overnight ratings dropped double-digits for the first game of the Stanley Cup Final. Game 1 of the Kings/Devils Stanley Cup Final drew a 2.4 overnight rating on NBC Wednesday night, down a quarter from Bruins/Canucks Game 1 last year (3.2), and down 14% from Flyers/Blackhawks Game 1 on a Saturday night in 2010 (2.8). The 2.4 is the lowest overnight for any Stanley Cup Final telecast on broadcast since Senators/Ducks Game 4 in 2007 (2.3). In addition, this marks the first time since 2008 that any weeknight Stanley Cup Final telecast has failed to draw at least 3% of metered market homes, reports Sports Media Watch.
