5/29 – Thunder/ Spurs Opener Outperforms Last Two West Finals

The first game of the Thunder/Spurs series did well for TNT Sunday. Game 1 of the Thunder/Spurs NBA Western Conference Finals drew a 5.7 overnight on TNT Sunday night, according to USA Today, down 23% from Heat/Bulls Game 1 last year (7.4), but up 8% from Suns/Lakers Game 1 on a Monday night in 2010 (5.3). Compared to Game 1 of last year’s Thunder/Mavericks series on ESPN (5.3), the 5.7 overnight marks an 8% increase. Despite featuring the #36 (San Antonio) and #44 (Oklahoma City) television markets, Sunday’s Game 1 drew the second-highest overnight of the past six seasons for a conference final opener on TNT, reports Sports Media Watch.
