ESPN’s E:60 Features “RG3” Interview on Tuesday’s Show

NFL Draft Special Kicks Off Flight of 4 Shows

An in-depth interview with Heisman Trophy winner and former Baylor QB Robert Griffin III, projected to be the second pick of Thursday’s NFL Draft, will be featured on ESPN’s award-winning news magazine, E:60, Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Among the topics “RG3” discussed with reporter Rachel Nichols:

  • Former Washington QB Donovan McNabb saying he’s not a good fit with Redskins coach Mike Shanahan and offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan
  • Growing up in a military family
  • Being the No. 2 pick of the Washington Redskins

“It was pretty tough. I’m a 13-year-old kid, and he left on my birthday. They woke me up at four in the morning and he said he was leaving and I had to be the man of the house.  It was the worst birthday I’ve ever had.“ – Robert Griffin III, on his father leaving to serve in Iraq

“When you have a Hall of Fame quarterback come in there, and clash with a Hall of Fame coach like Mike Shanahan, it was pretty obvious that they didn’t get along… Mike Shanahan’s a big, big person, a big personality, a great coach, and Donovan was a great quarterback. They just didn’t get right. Hopefully I can go in and be that great

Quarterback that coach Shanahan can coach, and egos won’t get in the way ‘cause we’re all fighting for the same thing.” – Griffin III, on Donovan McNabb saying he couldn’t be a good fit for the Redskins

“I’m looking forward to going to D.C. — I saw seven different variations of my name on a shirt, when I was there… They’ll get a franchise quarterback, or a young quarterback

that they can develop… They just need someone they can believe in, and I’m happy that I can  be that guy.” – Griffin III, on playing for the Redskins
