4/20 – Pens/Flyers Game Four Brings in Viewers

The 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs continues to earn stronger than usual numbers on NBC Sports Network. Game 4 of the Penguins/Flyers Stanley Cup playoff series drew 1.030 million viewers on NBC Sports Network Wednesday night, up 66% from Capitals/Rangers Game 4 one year earlier (619K). Later in the night, Kings/Canucks Game 4 drew 748,000 viewers, up 52% from Red Wings/Coyotes Game 4 last year (491K). Both games outdrew the non-exclusive Rangers/Red Sox Major League Baseball game on ESPN2 the same night (536K), but trailed the Magic/Celtics (1.715M) and Lakers/Warriors (1.673M) NBA games on ESPN. Over on CNBC, Rangers/Senators Game 4 drew 415,000 viewers. Through Wednesday, NBC Sports Network has averaged 693,000 viewers for coverage of the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs, up 31% from last year, reports Sports Media Watch.
