Jason Reid, Washington Post sports columnist and Redskins reporter, said today on The Lavar Arrington Show with Chad Dukes, that he has heard from other scouts and NFL team personnel some of the same character criticisms that Pro Football Weekly draft analyst Nolan Nawrocki wrote about in a recent assessment of Auburn QB Cam Newton. Nawrocki said on a conference call Wednesday that NFL decision-makers in the past 24 hours have described Newton as a “fraud” and “con-artist.” Nawrocki says Newton, “lacks accountability, focus and trustworthiness — is not punctual, seeks shortcuts and sets a bad example. Immature and has had issues with authority. Not dependable.’ However, Nawrocki also praises the QB by saying “extremely talented, dual-threat QB” with the “arm and athletic talent desired in a rollout, play-action, bootleg vertical passing game and would fit ideally into an offense.”
