3/26 – Overnight Ratings Up For Woods’ First PGA Tour Victory Since 2009

On the second-biggest weekend of the college basketball season, Tiger Woods again showed why he moves the needle like no other. Final round coverage of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, featuring Woods’ first victory since 2009, earned a 4.8 overnight rating on NBC Sunday — up 129% from last year (2.1), and up 200% from 2010 (1.6). The 4.8 overnight is the highest for final round coverage of the Arnold Palmer Invitational since Woods’ previous victory at the event in 2009 (4.9). Woods’ victory siphoned away viewers from the NCAA Tournament on CBS, as overnights for both of Sunday’s games were down double-digits, according to Sports Media Watch.
