Not surprisingly, considering the competition from the NCAA Tournament, overnight ratings for Sunday’s NASCAR race from Bristol were the lowest of the young season. FOX earned a 4.0 overnight rating for Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Food City 500 from Bristol, up a tick from last year (3.9), but down 5% from 2010 (4.2). This marks the first time this season that a NASCAR Sprint Cup race has had an increase in overnight ratings. That said, the 4.0 overnight is the lowest of the season for NASCAR on FOX, and the second-lowest overnight for the spring Bristol race since it moved to FOX in 2001, reports Sports Media Watch.
