After initially launching its Instant Deals service in DC and New York with $1 lunch deals, DC-based LivingSocial said it plans to repeat the popular promotion when it launches the service in San Francisco on Wednesday. The company will begin selling $1 lunch vouchers at 6 a.m. (PDT) for redemption between 11-2 on Wednesday only. More than 100 local restaurants are expected to participate. The company in March sold over 27,000 vouchers when it debuted the promotion in the District. The Instant Deals service lets consumers find immediate discounts at restaurants and attractions within a half-mile radius through their LivingSocial mobile iPhone or Android app, and is designed to help local merchants boost business during slower periods. LivingSocial said it plans to expand the service to more cities over the coming months, according to Inside Radio.
