DeMatha plays Theodore Roosevelt on Monday night at 7:30 in the Abe Pollin City Title Game at Verizon Center. The event, created more than 50 years ago and matching the city’s public school champion against the winner of the Catholic (WCAC) league, was designed to determine which high school boys’ basketball team is the best in the Washington area. DeMatha beat Gonzaga, 51-48, to win its third consecutive WCAC title. Theodore Roosevelt used buzzer-beaters in its final two games to win the D.C. Interscholastic Athletic Association title for the second time in four years, including a 62-60 victory over Eastern in the tournament final. Listen live at www.ussportsentertainment.com.
