Over seven million viewers tuned into Wednesday’s Gold Cup semifinal between Mexico and Honduras. The Mexico/Honduras Gold Cup semifinal drew 7.115 million viewers on Univision Wednesday night, the third-largest audience ever for a sporting event on the network. The only sporting events to attract larger audiences were World Cup matches last year — the Spain/Netherlands final (8.821M) and Argentina/Mexico (9.405M). Mexico/Honduras was television’s top program of the night among adults 18-34, men 18-34 and men 18-49, and finished second among adults 18-49, according to SMW.
