Redskins owner Dan Snyder’s sports talker ESPN 980, WTEM, is now delaying its internet podcast by 24 hours. You can’t listen to a replay of a show on the web until a full day after it’s aired on the radio. ESPN 980′ director of programming Chuck Sapienza told Dan Steinberg at washingtonpost.com: “We’re delaying the podcasts 24 hours for all of our shows. I know this hurts people who listen out of town, but we’re trying to get people to listen on the radio. We’re in the radio business, and we’re trying to get people to listen on the radio. And the more people who download podcasts, the fewer people who listen on the radio,” according to dcrtv.
