The more than 100,000 attendees of Saturday’s Preakness Stakes in Baltimore will have access to free Wi-Fi service, as well as a free wireless app. Owings Mills-based Believe Wireless Broadband and the Maryland Jockey Club, owner of Pimlico Race Course, said on Monday they will use wireless technology from California-based Ruckus Wireless to deliver high-capacity Wi-Fi access at the annual event. In addition, the Maryland Jockey Club has released a free Preakness app for iPhones, Androids and Blackberries, according to Potomac Tech Wire. The app lets users watch videos from previous races, look up information about how to wager, view profiles on jockeys and horses and see a schedule of races.
