The smartphone isn’t just a way for radio to reach young listeners. Nielsen reports for the first time a majority of Americans of all age groups own a smartphone. That figure now includes adults over the age of 55. In the 55+ demo, Nielsen says 51% now owns a smartphone, up 10 points from a year ago, reports Inside Radio.
