Newspaper circulation numbers out today show the Washington Post losing 4.8% of its print subscribers during the past year, dropping from 578,482 weekday subscribers to 550,821. The average US daily dropped 2.6%. McLean-based USA Today posted a slight 0.1% increase, to 1,829,022, with the Wall Street Journal remaining the nation’s top newspaper.
