DAVIS – USC’S DEFENSE KEY TO CRITICAL WIN AGAINST OREGON – FOX Sports’ primetime matchup of USC and Oregon is one most college football fans have circled on their calendar when the schedule was announced. FOX College Football analyst Charles Davis calls the action this Saturday and explains the keys to the Trojans keeping up with Oregon’s explosive offense. “USC needs to play to their potential. Most people had USC No. 1 to start the season and thought they would win the Pac-12 and they need to play like that. The key for USC defensively is to limit the explosive plays that Oregon presents each week. The problem is you never know where those plays are going to come from. It could be the quarterback running or throwing, wide receivers, running backs and tight ends. Oregon is so balanced on both sides of the line. The other key is takeaways. Most times a defensive goal is three takeaways, but with Oregon you have to up that to four or five to give yourself a chance to win the game.”
