Ted Leonsis, the co-founder of AOL and majority owner of the Capitals and Wizards, has further strengthened his relationship with group buying service Groupon. “ Leonsis’ Monumental Sports & Entertainment has named the Chicago-based company as the “official and exclusive Daily Deal sponsor” of the NBA’s Wizards, NHL’s Capital WNBA’s Mystics and the Verizon Center. As part of the partnership, Groupon will receive signage throughout the interior and exterior of the arena, and also offer exclusive deals related to both the Verizon Center and its teams, according to Potomac Tech Wire.
