7/21 – ESPN Makes NASCAR Changes

ESPN announced Wednesday yet another overhaul of its NASCAR broadcast team. ESPN NASCAR Countdown host Allen Bestwick has been named the network’s new lap-by-lap voice for NASCAR Sprint Cup races, replacing Marty Reid. Bestwick, the lead voice of NASCAR on NBC and TNT from 2001-04, will work alongside Andy Petree and Dale Jarrett.  Along with Dr. Jerry Punch (2007-09) and the aforementioned Reid (2010), Bestwick is the third lead NASCAR voice on ESPN since the network resumed airing races in 2007. Nicole Briscoe will replace Bestwick as host of NASCAR Countdown, according to SMW.
