Jalen Rose, former NBA player and current ESPN analyst who recently was under fire for making controversial comments about Duke recruiting “Uncle Toms,” said today on The Sports Fix with Kevin Sheehan on ESPN 980 in DC, he now has appreciation for an institution like Duke that will help mold and prepare students in a way he hopes his own children would be a part of someday. Rose also praised Coach K, but also cited that Duke has recently underperformed in the NCAA tournament. Rose said Chris Webber’s choice not to participate in the recent “30 for 30” ESPN documentary caused some issues, but the two are still close friends.
