“SB Nation, a DC-based network of sports-related blogs that in November raised $10.5 million in funding, said it has acquired college sports blog network FanTake, and The Offside, an international soccer network. Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed. Founded in 2003, SB Nation now operates a network of more than 300 mostly fan-penned sports blogs. “The FanTake network was running on a parallel track to us, so it made a lot of sense to combine under one tent,” said SB Nation co-founder Tyler Bleszinski. The [Offside] site has grown dramatically since [its 2006 launch], bringing in writers in a team format very similar to our own.
