STAMFORD, Conn. – October 30, 2017 – NBCSN’s Wednesday Night Rivalry features a rematch of the 2010 Stanley Cup Final this week, as Patrick Kane and the Chicago Blackhawks host Claude Giroux and the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET. Pre-game coverage begins with NHL Live at 7 p.m. ET.

Flyers-Blackhawks on Wednesday Night Rivalry kicks off a doubleheader on NBCSN, followed by a matchup featuring the previous two Western Conference champions, when P.K. Subbanand the Nashville Predators face off against Logan Couture and the San Jose Sharks at 10:30 p.m. ET.

ANALYST EDDIE OLCZYK TO CALL FLYERS-BLACKHAWKS ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT

U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member and long-time NHL on NBC analyst Eddie Olczyk will be in the booth for this week’s Flyers-Blackhawks Wednesday Night Rivalry game on NBCSN. Olczyk is in the midst of treatment for colon cancer, and returned to call his first game of the season in St. Louis on Oct. 18. He will join five-time Emmy Award-winner Mike “Doc” Emrick (play-by-play) and Emmy Award-winner Pierre McGuire (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) for the call on Wednesday.

Kathryn Tappen anchors NHL Live on Wednesday, joined by analysts and former playersMike Milbury and Keith Jones, as well as NHL insider Darren Dreger. Post-game coverage on NHL Overtime will air on NBCSN immediately following this Wednesday’s games.


WEDNESDAY NIGHT RIVALRY
 – FLYERS-BLACKHAWKS AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Blackhawks look to start fresh in November after losing five of their last six games to close out the month of October, despite opening the season 3-1 and outscoring their opponents 21-7 in those contests. Brandon Saad and Kane are first and tied for second on the Hawks in goals (six and five, respectively). Saad, who spent last season with Columbus, became the first Blackhawks player to record a hat trick in a season-opener since 1965. Through 12 games, Chicago ranks tied for fifth in the NHL in goals scored (38).

The Flyers are coming off a 4-2 victory over Auston Matthews and the Maple Leafs in Toronto on Saturday. Brian Elliott stopped 28-of-30 shots against Toronto, the league’s highest-scoring team, while Jakub Voracek tallied a goal and an assist. Voracek’s 16 points lead the Flyers and rank third in the NHL. Philadelphia hosts the Arizona Coyotes tonight.


WEDNESDAY NIGHTCAP – PREDATORS-SHARKS AT 10:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

Nashville has split its last two games, including a 2-1 victory over divisional rival Chicago on Saturday. Craig Smith netted the game-winner in the second period against the Blackhawks, giving him 100 goals for his NHL career. Through 11 games, Filip Forsberg leads the Predators both in goals (eight) and points (13). Wednesday’s contest marks the first of four road games for Nashville.

The Sharks have won four their last six games, including a 3-2 victory over Buffalo on Saturday, as Couture scored the game-winner with 3:52 remaining in the third period. The 28-year-old tallied six points during San Jose’s recent five-game road trip, and currently leads the team in goals (eight) and points (11). The Sharks’ face the Maple Leafs tonight in the first game of a five-game home stretch.

Randy Hahn (play-by-play) and Bret Hedican (‘Inside-the-Glass analyst) will have the call from SAP Center in San Jose, Calif.
