Rangers Host Bruins On “Wednesday Night Rivalry” On NBCSN, Oct. 24

Wednesday Night Rivalry – Bruins-Rangers – 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN

Tuesday Night Doubleheader on NBCSN – Sabres-Flyers at 7:30 p.m. ET, Followed by Ducks-Sharks at 10 p.m. ET

STAMFORD, Conn. – Oct. 24, 2016 – NBCSN continues its coverage of the 2016-17 NHL regular season with three matchups this week, highlighted by a Wednesday Night Rivalry showdown between Henrik Lundqvist and the New York Rangers and Brad Marchand and the Boston Bruins at 8 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

This week’s NHL coverage begins tomorrow night with a doubleheader on NBCSN beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET, when Claude Giroux and the Philadelphia Flyers host Kyle Okposo and the Buffalo Sabres. The action shifts west to San Jose at 10 p.m. ET, when Corey Perry and the Anaheim Ducks visit Joe Pavelski and the Sharks.

Four-time Emmy Award-winner Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick (play-by-play), U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Eddie Olczyk (analyst), and Emmy Award-winner Pierre McGuire (‘Inside-the-Glass analyst) will call Bruins-Rangers from Madison Square Garden in New York.

Jim Jackson (play-by-play) and Keith Jones (analyst) will have the call of Sabres-Flyers from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pa. Randy Hahn (play-by-play), Bret Hedican (analyst), and Brian Hayward (‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst) will provide commentary of Ducks-Sharks from SAP Center in San Jose, Calif.

Pre-game coverage on NHL Live begins one hour before puck drop tomorrow and Wednesday on NBCSN. Liam McHugh anchors Wednesday Night Rivalry studio coverage with analysts Mike Milbury and Keith Jones, as well as NHL insider Bob McKenzie. Kathryn Tappenhosts tomorrow night’s studio coverage on NBCSN with Mike Milbury and Jeremy Roenick.


WEDNESDAY NIGHT RIVALRY
: BRUINS AT RANGERS – WEDNESDAY AT 8 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Rangers host the Bruins this Wednesday in a matchup of Original Six franchises, as New York looks to continue its strong start to the 2016-17 campaign. The Rangers are 4-2-0 to start the season, including a 4-2 win in Washington on Saturday, and a 3-2 win at home against Arizona on Sunday evening. Through six games, the Rangers have scored more goals (22) than any team in the Eastern Conference. Chris Kreider leads the team with seven points (3g/4a) in six games.

Boston sits at 3-2-0 to start the season and welcomes the Minnesota Wild to TD Garden tomorrow night, prior to their Wednesday Night Rivalry matchup with the Rangers. The Bruins have been led by Brad Marchand, who is tied for the league lead with nine points (3g/6a) in just five games. Last season, the Rangers won two of three games against the Bruins, both of which came at Madison Square Garden.


SABRES AT FLYERS – TOMORROW AT 7:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Flyers (2-2-1) enter the week looking to build off of the momentum of a 6-3 win against the Carolina Hurricanes on Saturday night, in which Jakub Voracek and Shayne Gostisbehereeach recorded three points and Steve Mason made 27 saves. Matt Read leads the club with five goals in five games to start the season. The Flyers travel to Montreal tonight to face the Canadiens prior to tomorrow night’s game on NBCSN against Buffalo.

Buffalo (1-2-1) has been led offensively by Ryan O’Reilly, who has totaled five points in four games to open his season. The Sabres swept the season series against the Flyers last season, including a 3-1 win in Philadelphia on Oct. 30, 2015, in which O’Reilly scored and added two assists.
DUCKS-SHARKS – TOMORROW AT 10 P.M. ET ON NBCSN

The Ducks (2-3-1) are coming off back-to-back wins after opening the season with four losses. Anaheim defeated the Flyers 3-2 in Philadelphia last Thursday, and handed the Canucks their first regulation loss of the season in a 4-2 win in their home opener on Sunday. Ducks captainRyan Getzlaf leads the NHL with seven assists in his first six games.

San Jose (3-3-0) returns home after a five-game Eastern Conference road trip. The Sharks won their only home game of the season thus far, a 2-1 win over the Kings on opening night. San Jose defenseman Brent Burns is tied for the league lead in points with nine (3g/6a).
