ESPN College GameDay Built by The Home Depot – college football’s longest running and most celebrated pregame show – will make its second appearance from the storied Army-Navy game on Saturday, Dec. 12. The Emmy Award-winning show – airing this week from 9-11 a.m. on ESPN – will close out its regular season from Xfinity Live! on the grounds of Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
Host Rece Davis – finishing his first season at the College GameDay desk – is joined by analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, Desmond Howard, as well as contributors Samantha Ponder, Tom Rinaldi and Gene Wojciechowski.
College Football Live will originate from the College GameDay set Friday, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m. on ESPN with Ponder, Howard and Herbstreit at the desk.
College GameDay Fun Facts:
- This is the second time GameDay has originated from the site of the Army-Navy game (last year was the first).
- GameDay originated from West Point once – September 27, 2003 for the South Florida vs. Army game – but for the only time in show history, it had to be cancelled mid-show due to lightning. The game was played later that day and South Florida won 28-0.GameDay has never originated from Annapolis.
- Corso put on Navy headgear twice – in last year’s win over Army, and he also represented Navy at the end of the show on November 11, 2012 – when the show originated from the USS San Diego.
- Navy is currently a 22-point favorite in the game. The largest Las Vegas spread in an FBS game that GameDay has attended is 34.5 in the 2011 meeting between Alabama and Auburn. The Tide won by 28 and would go on to capture the national title that season.
- This is the third time the show has originated from Philadelphia. The show was present at Franklin Field in 2002 for the Harvard-Penn game, as well as earlier this year for Notre Dame at Temple.
