2015 NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship Semifinals Set

National Championship Game Live on ESPNU & WatchESPN on Sunday, at 8:30 p.m.

The top four seeds – No. 1 Maryland, No. 2 North Carolina, No. 3 Duke and No. 4 Syracuse – advanced to the final weekend of play in the 2015 NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Championship Presented by Northwestern Mutual on Friday, May 22 and Sunday, May 24, from PPL Park in Philadelphia. The semifinals will be shown on ESPN3 as No. 3 seed Duke faces ACC rival No. 2 seed North Carolina at 5 p.m. ET, followed by top-seeded Maryland facing No. 4 seed Syracuse at 7:30 p.m. The 2015 season will culminate with the National Championship Sunday at 8:30 p.m., on ESPNU and WatchESPN.

Game Storylines & Features

  • Three of the four semifinalists are members of the ACC: No. 2 seed North Carolina, No. 3 seed Duke and No. 4 seed Syracuse, while No. 1 seed Maryland competed its first year as a member of the Big Ten, formally of the ACC.
  • The last two national champions advanced to Championship Weekend: Maryland (2014) and North Carolina (2013).
  • The second semifinal between top-seeded Maryland and No. 4 seed Syracuse is a rematch of the 2014 national championship game.
  • Tracking two of the Tewaaraton Award finalists: Maryland’s Taylor Cummings and Syracuse’s Kayla Treanor.

  • Play-by-play voice Joe Beninati will lead the booth, and is joined by analyst Courtney Martinez Connor and reporter Sheehan Stanwick Burch. Martinez Connor was an All-American at Maryland and Stanwick Burch was a four-time All-American at Georgetown.
