ESPN/ABC Become Premier Boxing Champions Broadcast Partners

Already airing on NBC Sports, CBS and Spike TV, the Premier Boxing Champions has added another set of broadcast partners.

ESPN has reached a multiyear agreement with the Premier Boxing Champions series to televise 12 events per year on ESPN and ABC, the network announced Wednesday. Each of the ESPN telecasts will air in primetime, with the first event scheduled for July 11. ABC’s coverage will air on Saturday afternoons.

The PBC already has deals with NBC Sports, CBS and Spike TV. Combined, the four television deals amount to 52 telecasts per year — 20 combined on NBC and NBCSN, 12 each on ESPN/ABC and Spike TV, and up to eight on CBS.

The PBC will replace ESPN’s Friday Night Fights series, which concludes on May 22, reports Sports Media Watch.
