2015 PGA Tour Honda Classic Gets a 2.1 Overnight

With rain pushing the third round back a day, it is no surprise that overnights declined for weekend coverage of the Honda Classic.

Third and partial final round coverage of the PGA Tour Honda Classic drew a 2.1 overnight rating on NBC Sunday afternoon, down 34% from last year’s final round (3.2) but down only 9% from final round coverage in 2013 (2.3).

The 2.1 is the fourth-highest overnight for a weekend telecast at the Honda Classic since 2008 (12 telecasts), trailing only final round coverage the previous three years.

Compared to last year’s third round, which aired on the customary Saturday, overnights increased by 11% over last year (1.9) and 31% over 2013 (1.6). This year’s Saturday telecast, which featured rain delay coverage, drew a 0.9 overnight, reports Sports Media Watch.
