Saints/Cowboys Sunday Night Football Gets 13.7 Overnight

NBC carved out a slight increase in overnights for Sunday Night Football.

The Saints/Cowboys Sunday Night Football game drew a 13.7 overnight rating on NBC, up a tick from Patriots/Falcons last year (13.6) but down 12% from Giants/Eagles in 2012 (15.6). The teams’ SNF meeting last year, which took place in Week 10, drew a 13.0 overnight.

So far this season, NBC has generated rather soft numbers for Sunday Night Football. Two of the four games declined from last year, and the other two were up only a tick in the overnights. NBC’s largest increase of the season was for the NFL Kickoff Game, which was up only 4% from last year.

As is usually the case, Sunday Night Football finished well behind the NFL national window (16.7), reports Sports Media Watch.

New Orleans was the top market for the Cowboys’ comfortable win with a 48.9 rating. Dallas-Ft. Worth turned in a 35.5, with San Antonio (25.9), Austin (21.9) and Albuquerque (19.6) rounding out the top five.
