Overnight ratings rose substantially for the season’s second edition of the SEC on CBS.
Saturday’s Florida/Alabama college football game drew a 5.1 overnight rating on CBS, up 70% from Tennessee/Florida last year (3.0), up 113% from Missouri/South Carolina in 2012 (2.4), and the top college football overnight of the season.
Florida/Alabama and ABC’s Florida State/Clemson game (4.9) both eclipsed the previous high this season, a 4.6 for USC/Stanford in week two. Of note, four of the top six college football overnights this season have been for afternoon games.
Alabama’s win marked the second time in as many tries that the SEC on CBS earned the weekend’s top college football overnight, reports Sports Media Watch.
