The Sports Junkies on 106.7 the Fan in DC are firing back at sports writer and radio host Thom Loverro, who works for ESPN 980 in DC, regarding Loverro’s comments that the Sports Junkies are not credible journalists when breaking sports news stories. According to the Sports Junkies, citing multiple unnamed sources, coach Mike Shanahan asked Donovan McNabb to wear a wristband after he struggled to remember plays. McNabb said the wristband would make him look stupid, and said, “It’s bad for my image.” Loverro and some other DC media are calling out the Sports Junkies for the validity of their sources and truth of the story. The Sports Junkies said they never claimed to be journalists, but do have numerous sources and contacts particularly around the Redskins.
